Cancer Treatment Icons
The Oropharyngeal Cancer Treatment Decision Aid is a decision-making tool for patients who are considering their treatment options. I designed an icon set for this web-based tool, which helps patients determine if they will move forward with surgery, radiation treatment, or chemotherapy.

To encourage inclusivity, we adjusted the surgery icon to depict a more feminine surgeon. However, after a feasibility study showed bias towards the surgery treatment option because the icon depicted a human, we updated the surgery icon to a surgical tool.
